DoBeDo presents ‘Inside the Bum’ – a book and film by Frank & Tyrone Lebon. This limited-edition photo book documents the making of Harmony Korine’s new film ‘The Beach Bum’ – starring Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Isla Fisher, Snoop Dogg, and Zac Efron.
In October of 2017 the Lebon brothers, Frank and Tyrone, were invited onto the set of Harmony Korine’s latest film for a period of six weeks. Given the freedom to wander the set as they pleased, the Lebons received unrestricted access and a privileged insight into the filmmaking process of Korine – a long time inspiration for both brothers.
Korine’s colourful set provided a bountiful stream of wild and wacky scenarios to document, from naked hobos destroying Miami-mansions to Moondog (McConaughey) setting boats on fire and dancing in tinfoil underwear. The book is a compilation of photographs, video stills, written diary entries, call sheets, and vintage Florida tourist paraphernalia taped together into a scrap book of sorts; part on-set documentary photography, part notebook of thoughts, questions and anecdotes for their film.

DoBeDo is proud to announce the release of its latest publication ‘Hugo Scott – 20 Photographs’.
’20 Photographs’ is a selection of Hugo Scott’s portraiture shot over the last eight years. Regularly travelling to different countries for his day-job, Scott started taking portraits during his down time, photographing people in the places he found himself as a way to interact with and experience unfamiliar situations. As his hobby grew into his main occupation, he began travelling specifically to photograph – this photo box includes photographs taken in Romania, South Africa, Cuba, Spain, France and all across USA.
The edit of 20 standalone images is an introduction to Scott’s extensive portraiture practice, made from an original edit of 5000; a taster of the large-scale ongoing projects that are not yet fully realised, and a first window into the breadth and exciting depth of the photographic practice of Hugo Scott.
This publication includes 20 card-mounted photographs with a signed and hand numbered index page, held in a hand finished box. It is a limited edition of only 150 hand made copies.

DoBeDo is excited to announce its release of T-shirt #023 in the ‘DoBeDo Photographers Series’ – ‘The Road to Tepeyac’ by Alinka Echeverría.
Echeverría is a Mexican-British artist, working in film and photography. The image for this T-shirt is taken from ‘The Road to Tepeyac’; conceptualised as an immersive photographic installation, The Road to Tepeyac consists of 125 images of devout Mexican pilgrims carrying their personal image of the Virgin of Guadalupe on the anniversary of her apparition in 1531.
“What is the connection between seeing and believing? What is it that makes us need images, crave images in order to feel a connection to the divine?”
The T-shirt includes a 6-set postcard pack, with different images from the series, and a printed insert with the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe. “The Road to Tepeyac” is embroided in white cotton braille on the front, with a colour print of a pilgrim on the back.

T-shirt #022 in the ‘DoBeDo Photographers Series’ – ‘Perennial Shadows’ by Tommy Malekoff.
Malekoff is a New York based visual artist from North Carolina. The image on this shirt is taken from Perennial Shadows; a short film and collection of photographs about Kudzu; the invasive vine native to Japan that grows rampant in the American South.
In this particular image, Kudzu has grown up a power pole in the shape of crucified Jesus, adding to the myth and regional symbolism that the vine has created.
The T-shirt has a full colour digital print on the front, with a poem written in collaboration with the artist Project Pat printed on the back. The T-shirt includes a zine made by the artist which features a collection of cell phone photographs, found flyers, and writings. The contents of this publication exist as studies for an upcoming film project.
This T-shirt can be purchased here (at a discount) as part of the DoBeDo Photographers Series T-shirt Subscription.
Tshirt #021 of the exclusive ‘DoBeDo Photographer Series’ is ‘Gasoline’ by David Campany.
The images for this T-shirt are taken from Campany’s book Gasoline; a collection of press photos of American gas stations published by MACK.
“A news photo of a woman waiting in line to fill her car with gasoline. It was the 1970s, the decade of global oil price instability. Today there are other instabilities. Will the oil run dry before the planet collapses? I bought the photo on eBay for $15. Now it’s a T-shirt.”
The T-shirt has a black and white print on the front, with the writing from the back of the original photograph printed on the back of the T-shirt. It also comes with a poster of a different image from the series.
This Tshirt can also be purchased here (at a discount) as part of the DoBeDo Photographers Series Tshirt Subscription
Paintings, an image from Weir’s new book of the same title – which is being published by Loose Joints – presents an image that digresses from the artist’s traditional photographic practice. Rather than confronting the concerns of trust, power and permission that weigh heavily upon her work produced for the fashion industry, Paintings shifts her attention onto the rhythm, colour and form of surfaces. This image, alongside the rest of the collection, is the result of consistent visual studies made by Weir throughout the past three years.
The Tshirt is embroidered on the front with Harley’s initials HVW and has a full colour print on the back.
This Tshirt can also be purchased here (at a discount) as part of the DoBeDo Photographers Series Tshirt Subscription.
It is also available to buy as a special package along with the book on the Loose Joints website.

An erect penis goes up against the new 1 World Trade Center. It stands like a sentry over Lower Manhattan, self-assured that its presence symbolizes the defeat of New York grime of yore: open air sex markets, emotionally disturbed wanderers, perpetrators of both serious and petty crime.
The cock’s message is not one of nostalgia, nor does it romanticize the idea of an unsafe city.
A timely erection can outlive concrete, glass and steel.

Tshirt #007 of the ‘DoBeDo Photographers Tshirt Series’ is by Jason Evans.
Jason Evans is a multi-disciplinary photographer producing diverse and experimental imagery. He has shot for fashion magazines (his seminal fashion series ‘Strictly’ is held in the Tate collection), worked with musicians shooting album sleeves and music videos for bands such as Radiohead and Fourtet, exhibited his work internationally and been published in various contemporary photography surveys.
Shawn Mortensen was a photographer based in Los Angeles.
Throughout his life Shawn was often on the move, exploring places and meeting people that interested him. From shooting Dash Snow for a fashion campaign in LA to living with the Zapatista rebels in Mexico, from being invited to dinner with the Marley’s in Jamaica to photographing backstage at a Cassette Playa fashion show in London – Shawns’ photography never failed to capture the true warmth, interest, and excitement he had for his subjects.
In selecting an image for this Tshirt Shawn was keen to avoid the obvious choices in his archive; he had endless Tshirt-worthy shots of well known celebrities from Tupac to Larry Flynt from Kate Moss to Nelson Mandela. However, he chose an image of a Zapatista Rebel holding his machine gun while giving a peace sign. Having Shawn agree to take part in the ‘DoBeDo Photographers Series’ Tshirt project was very exciting and a real honor.
Shawn’s death earlier this year, at the age of only 43, was a terrible and tragic loss to all those who knew him. We decided to go ahead with Shawn’s Tshirt as he had designed it but also add a photo of him on the back. The image of Shawn was taken by DoBeDo contributor Tyrone Lebon in London in 2006.
Tshirt #005 of the exclusive ‘DoBeDo Photographer Series’ is by London based photographer, Mark Lebon.
Lebon established his reputation throughout the 80s and 90s working together with stylists Ray Petri and Judy Blame, creating fashion imagery that was highly influential and lead the way for the new wave of ‘grunge’ that emerged in the late 90s. Cited by David Sims as his greatest photographic influence, Lebon is currently working on his archive and teaching photography at the London College of Fashion.
