Nigel Shafran has made a film called ‘Today Everyday’ about the BBC Radio 4 Today programme.
BBC Radio 4’s flagship news and current affairs programme Today is the most popular programme on Radio 4 – with over seven and a half million listeners a week. It was launched in late October 1957, and – as part of it’s sixtieth anniversary – Shafran has made a series of video portraits of the presenters; which are now on display at the National Portrait Gallery.
Filmed in and around the Today studio over three days in July 2017, John Humphrys, Sarah Montague, Mishal Husain, Nick Robinson and Justin Webb were questioned by Shafran about their daily lives.
Speaking about Today Everyday Shafran says “my thoughts were concerned with how the Today presenters bring world events into our homes, but what is of interest to me are the details of people’s lives, the day – to – day domestic, the personal, non-events often overlooked, which include details such as eating habits, shopping lists, relatives talked to, memories.”

DoBeDo contributor Jamie Hawkesworth has an upcoming exhibition, Landscape with Tree, at the Huis Marseille in Amsterdam.
Hawkesworth’s approach to photography is grounded in the subtle, elegiac and playful heritage of British documentary photography. With his works exhibited across the 14 rooms of the beautiful Huis Marseille, Hawkesworth aims to create a photographic experience in synergy with the architectural setting, and in anticipation of your engagement with the works.
In Landscape with Tree you can explore the spectrum of experiences that Hawkesworth has sought out with his camera of the past ten years, and the places this has ultimately taken him. The exhibition manifests his sustained and transitory intimacies, planned and unexpected journeys, and wonderful immersions.
DoBeDo contributor Tyrone Lebon is exhibiting in Iron Lady: Symonds, Pearmain, Lebon at Isabella Bortolozzi Galerie, Berlin.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Tyrone Lebon, designer Anthony Symonds, and stylist Max Pearmain and includes portraits, advertising imagery, and a TV commercial for the perfume ‘Iron Lady’, all featuring adult actress and writer Stoya.
DoBeDo is happy to announce ‘Boundaries‘, Harley Weir’s first solo exhibition at Foam in Amsterdam.
The exhibition presents a selection of Weir’s intimate photographs; mixing both her personal and commissioned work. She describes it as a ‘mix-tape’ of her work to date.
‘Boundaries’ is now open until 19th February 2017.
