“DRAWING A BLANK” EXHIBITION BY BEN BROOME, LONDON

DoBeDo is delighted to announce the opening of ‘Drawing a Blank’ – a group exhibition in New York, curated by Ben Broome. 
 
Following two successful shows in London ‘Drawing a Blank’ has crossed the Atlantic and will take place in an old police station in Sugar Hill Harlem, and feature works, in a variety of mediums, from 17 London and New York based artists – including DoBeDo contributors Frank Lebon, Hanna Moon, Lily Gavin, Rosie Marks, and Tyrone Lebon.
 
‘Drawing a Blank’ will host a variety of music events, artist talks and live performances over the 10 days, and the opening night will include performances and music curated by Isaiah Barr of Onyx Collective. Proceeds from the exhibition will be split between ’Neighborhood Women’s Collective’ in Harlem and ‘Harlem Children’s Zone’.

DoBeDo is excited to announce Nigel Shafran has an upcoming exhibition opening in London, ‘Work Books 1984 – 2018′.

Shafran is exhibiting over thirty years of personal work; in the form of books containing drawings, notes, small photographs and other printed matter. Parallel to the exhibition, prints from Shafran’s Teenage Precinct Shoppers (1990) series are for sale.

“A STORY WITH VINCENT” EXHIBITION BY LILY GAVIN, ARLES

DoBeDo is proud to announce its newest contributor, Lily Gavin, will soon open her solo exhibition “Lily Gavin: A Story with Vincent” at the LUMA Foundation in Arles as part of the Rencontres d’Arles – the international summer photo festival. 

Gavin, a multidisciplinary artist, born and raised in New York, was invited to be the on-set photographer for Julian Schnabel’s new film “At Eternity’s Gate” – a film about Van Gogh’s life in Arles.

The exhibition will be presented at La Grande Halle, Parc des Ateliers along with LUMA’s other exhibitions, including Arthur Jafa’s “Apex” and Gilbert & George’s retrospective, “The Great Exhibition (1971-2016)”.

“ON THE EDGE OF TOWN” EXHIBITION BY HUGO SCOTT, GLASGOW

DoBeDo contributor Hugo Scott has an  exhibition opening at SWG3 in Glasgow this Friday. 

‘On the Edge of Town’ features documentary and portrait images shot on Scott’s travels to Brazil, USA, Japan, UK, South Africa and Cuba. This will be his first exhibition in the UK and will launch as part of the ‘Glasgow International’ - the biennial festival of contemporary art held in Glasgow.

Along with Scott, DoBeDo contributor Judy Blame’s show “Judy Blame – Available Nowhere” will also open the same night.
