DoBeDo contributor Mark Lebon is celebrating the reopening of his rebuilt studio with a Grand Door Opening Party exhibiting the work of his long-time friend and collaborator, artist Dave Baby.
Mark has collected Dave Baby’s work since they first met 30 years ago. “Dave has always been a big influence on my aesthetic. Dave carved my front door and the studio, formally know as ‘Crunch’ was re-christened ‘The Good Temple for Truth’ to which i added ‘…Love, Lust, Life and Lies’ “.

Exhibition

This exhibition takes a closer look at the link between artistic and creative endeavour in London from the early 1980s through to the emerging talent of 2013, proposing a single thread of creativity that can be traced back over the past thirty years.
Featuring the work of father and son DoBeDo contributors Mark and Tyrone Lebon, the project is formed around 50 custom-made vitrines, each curated by artists or proponents of a particular creative scene, showcasing material ranging from flyers, books, photographs, drawings and other paraphernalia.

Tshirt #005 of the exclusive ‘DoBeDo Photographer Series’ is by London based photographer, Mark Lebon.
Lebon established his reputation throughout the 80s and 90s working together with stylists Ray Petri and Judy Blame, creating fashion imagery that was highly influential and lead the way for the new wave of ‘grunge’ that emerged in the late 90s. Cited by David Sims as his greatest photographic influence, Lebon is currently working on his archive and teaching photography at the London College of Fashion.
