Contemporary art is full of photographs trying to look slightly more sophisticated than ‘commercial’ photos. Although good and inventive photography can be found anywhere, art does not have the monopoly. In this illustrated talk writer/curator David Campany and photographer Jason Evans explore why the medium’s freedom is paramount.

Jason Evans is a multi-disciplinary photographer producing diverse and experimental imagery. He has shot for fashion magazines (his seminal fashion series ‘Strictly’ is held in the Tate collection), worked with musicians shooting album sleeves and music videos for bands such as Radiohead and Fourtet, exhibited his work internationally and been published in various contemporary photography surveys.
